Power

Sephia comes with a choice of smooth running, responsive engines: a 1.5 liter DOHC or 1.5 SOHC, both with multi-point fuel injection. For leaded gas, there's a 1.5 SOHC with carburator, whatever your choice, you'll enjoy ideal balance of performance and economy. Powerplants are mated to either the standard 5-speed manual gearbox or the optional 4-speed electronically controlled automatic which includes a gear-hold button for engine braking.

	Suspension
	All four wheels grip the road firmly thanks to the 4-wheel independent MacPherson strut suspension. The ride is supple and firm and the teering sure-footed and predictable at any speed.

Interior
The center console box inner lid conveniently drops down to reveal two cup holders. Door pockets are now integrated into the doors and able to hold thicker items. Driver-oriented analog guages and systems warning/status indicators can be read at a glance while controls are within the intuitive reach of one's fingertips.

Safety Supercomputer stimulation

Safety by design is no accident. Sephia has been extensively tested through computer crash simulation on Kia's Cray super-computer. The use of high-tension steel on the monocoque body attests to Kia's commitment to body integrity and occupant safety. So does the T-bar which separates the passenger and engine compartments. Steel members prevent the engine from intruding into the passenger compartment during heavy frontal impact. Depowered Air bag, torque box, solid T-bar, 3-point seat belt.

	Comport
	For maximum driver comfort, the driver's seat adjustments include forward and backward as well as recline angle, and seat height. Amount of headroom and legroom that rivals the best in its class.
