The 2.9-liter J3 TDI is not your ordinary diesel engine. Building on a solid 16-valve, 4-cylinder double overhead cam design, the intercooled turbocharger boosts output by 30 percent over normally-aspirated 2.9-liter diesels, delivering an impressive 135 PS of power and 31.5 kgm of torque.
